Airtex® Davit System

The Airtex® Davit System installed on your Ocean Alexander is a hydraulically operated lifting system designed for the safe launching, retrieval, and handling of tenders, personal watercraft, and other approved deck equipment. Engineered specifically for the marine environment, the system provides smooth, controlled lifting and slewing operations through dedicated hydraulic controls and integrated safety features.

Proper operation, routine inspection, and preventative maintenance are essential to ensure the continued reliability, safety, and longevity of the davit system. Operators should become familiar with the system controls, operating limitations, and emergency procedures before use.

This knowledge base section includes:

  • Operating Instructions – Safe procedures for launching, retrieving, and stowing tenders and equipment.
  • Maintenance – Recommended inspection intervals, lubrication points, hydraulic system care, and preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting – Common operating issues, possible causes, and corrective actions.
  • Safety Information – Load limitations, operating precautions, and best practices to help prevent injury and equipment damage.
  • Manufacturer Documentation – Original equipment manuals, technical specifications, and service information.

Important: Never exceed the davit’s rated Safe Working Load (SWL), and always verify that lifting slings, hooks, shackles, and lifting points are properly secured before operating the system. Keep all personnel clear of suspended loads, and never allow anyone beneath a raised tender or other lifted equipment. Routine inspections should be performed before each use, and any signs of hydraulic leaks, unusual noises, damaged wire rope, or structural deterioration should be addressed before the davit is placed into service.
