Ocean Alexander Fueling Procedures

Proper fueling is one of the most important routine operations aboard any yacht, and one of the most frequent sources of avoidable incidents. Ocean Alexander yachts use different fuel system designs depending on model, including pull-up, gravity-feed, and cam-lock fill configurations. Each design has its own tank sequencing, valve alignment, and maximum fill rate.

The procedures below are written for owners, captains, and crew, and are specific to each Ocean Alexander model. Following them helps prevent overfilling, fuel spills, and venting discharges, protects the vessel’s fuel system and equipment, and supports safe, environmentally responsible operation at the dock.

Before fueling, identify your vessel’s model, review its procedure in full, and confirm the maximum fill rate on the onboard fuel placard. The placard rate must never be exceeded. If you have questions about your vessel’s fuel system or these procedures, contact Ocean Alexander Yacht Service before fueling.
