The windlass is designed to retrieve the anchor and chain, not to pull or maneuver the vessel toward the anchor. Never use the windlass to secure the vessel at anchor; once the anchor is set, transfer the load to the appropriate chain stopper or bridle to prevent excessive loads on the windlass. Before each use, inspect the anchor chain, rope, gypsy, and surrounding deck area, and ensure all personnel remain clear of the anchor, chain, and moving components during operation.

Your Ocean Alexander yacht is equipped with two (2) Italwinch® single-speed, bi-directional anchor windlasses, engineered to provide dependable anchor handling and line management in a wide range of operating conditions.
